Laila's First Roll

Laila had been trying to roll over for a few weeks before she actually did it. In the beginning she would roll from her back to one side, most often the left side, while talking about it the whole time. Since we knew that she was just waiting for the perfect moment to take the roll we had the camera ready.

The day she actually rolled over she had been especially vocal while laying on her back on the ottoman so as I went out side to water the garden I asked Jeremy to lay with her, just in case she tried to throw her self off the ottoman. As it turned out it was an exciting day in the garden too, so I ran in to the house to tell Jeremy that we had three bell peppers starting to form when I realized that Laila was now on her tummy. I asked him if he put her that way, Jeremy likes to do tummy time, he said that he had not noticed that she was on her tummy. We both realized a the same time that she must have put her self on her tummy. I ran an got the camera and Jeremy put her on her back and we waited to see if she would do it again. She did with very little coaxing. Here is the video that we shot of her rolling over for the first time, well at least that we got to see.

I was so excited when she first rolled over but it was a little bitter sweet moment. I had hoped so much that she would be as excited as I was but as you can see from the video, she was not very happy about being on her tummy. It has been about a month since this video was shot and she can freely go from tummy to back and back to tummy. She does tend to forget that she can do this when she acidently ends up on her tummy, she will tell you loudly.

I am new to this Blogging idea. Only recently while trying to make a video of the little one triumphantly, although in her mind not as triumphantly as it was irritating, rolling over from her back to her stomach for the grandparents to see, did I decide to start this blog. I want to give grandparents, family and friends the ability to come and enjoy the growth and development of our little Laila Marie.
